Cody, who joined our herd in 2015 on loan from his owner Leslie Warhan, is now retired from being ridden but remains an incredibly dependable horse for groundwork. He had a remarkable career as a reining horse, even placing 5th in the nation at just 5 years old. Known for his incredibly smooth gait, Cody was the "go-to" horse for riders venturing into cantering for the first time, offering them confidence and capturing many hearts along the way.

Mr. Cricket, owned by Susie and Steven Fraser, became part of the herd in 2020. Before joining WindWalkers, he spent several years as a sleigh horse alongside his best buddy, Vie Gaits, and later served as a therapy horse for veterans for eight years. Since reuniting with Vie Gaits at WindWalkers, Mr. Cricket has become a crowd favorite for groundwork therapy and is known for his surefootedness with our small riders. He holds a special place in the hearts of many!

Our beautiful snowy roan Ms. Cricket arrived in 2016, and was an advanced lesson horse before joining WindWalkers. She is now ridden by our experienced riders, and she plays a key role in teaching leadership and communication skills through groundwork. She’s our charming hostess with the mostest, bringing a touch of grace to everything she does.

Dave is one of our newest members of the herd this year, who came along with his friend Chance! Owned by WindWalkers, we have high hopes for Dave to be a long-standing member of the herd!

General arrived at WindWalkers in the spring of 2023, brought by his owner, Michelle Sullivan. Once a cowboy’s trusted steed, General now imparts his wisdom to our programs’ Cowboys and Cowgirls. His striking good looks and larger-than-life personality always command a second glance.

Arriving in 2016, he was an advanced lesson horse before joining WindWalkers. With his large, soulful eyes and striking ginger color, he makes an impressive herd leader. He excels in groundwork and teambuilding programs, captivating everyone with his imposing size and gentle presence.

Gizmo arrived at WindWalkers in the summer of 2023. Owned by Katy Parr, who has generously loaned him to our therapy riding programs, Gizmo is the youngest member of the herd. His striking tiger eyes and playful nature make him a lively presence among his herd mates, where he enjoys engaging being a silly boy. However, he is on his best behavior during lessons, displaying remarkable focus and dedication while still bringing his infectious enthusiasm and charm.

Lucky arrived at WindWalkers in May 2021 and has been a reliable and cherished member of our team ever since. He continues to thrive, assisting riders of all ages with his steady demeanor. His gentle nature makes him especially adept at working with individuals on the autism spectrum and those with developmental delays, providing them with the support and care they need to feel safe.

Lulu, owned by local Veterinary Technician Melanie Arnold, is a triple-registered horse (Paint, Pinto, Quarter Horse). With a successful western show career that includes multiple appearances at the Paint World Show and Quarter Horse Congress, she transitioned seamlessly into therapeutic riding. Now, in her later years, Lulu is enjoying retirement. Her favorite treat? Strawberry Poptarts!

Lupe joined WindWalkers in the fall of 2022, thanks to his owner, Katia Bhagatram. After successfully teaching Katia’s children to ride, Katia recognized that Lupe would be a perfect fit to our program. And she was absolutely right! Though small in stature, Lupe’s boundless love and affection makes a big impact in every interaction. He has quickly become a favorite, especially in our summer camps!

Persia joined WindWalkers in the fall of 2022 and quickly established herself as the ultimate Diva of the ranch. With a stellar show career in dressage and a notable background in show jumping, thanks to her owner Donna Dubois, Persia brings a wealth of experience. Standing at an impressive 17.3 hands, Persia is not only the beauty queen of WindWalkers but also a powerful role model. Her commanding presence and graceful demeanor teach our participants the essence of confidence, helping them to find their own poise and assurance both in and out of the saddle.

Reggae joined WindWalkers in the spring of 2023. Deana Blair, who has been Reggae's owner since he was three, generously donated him to our herd, though she remains his Fairy Godmother. Having logged many miles on the trails of Colorado's western slope and graced the dressage show ring, Reggae is a true friend to everyone in the herd and has earned the title of Mr. Congeniality around the barn.

Renoir, or "Ren," joined WindWalkers in the summer of 2023. When his previous owner went off to college, our Executive Director, Gabrielle Greeves, stepped in as his new owner. After a successful career in show jumping, Ren is gracefully transitioning into his new role as a therapy horse. Ladies, if you’re in search of a tall, dark, and handsome man, come and meet Renoir!

Ringo is owned by Gabrielle Greeves and joined the herd in 2016. He has a few select junior staff riders who enjoy his quiet gaits. Ringo is well suited to our clients for grooming exercises and for groundwork in our therapy sessions. He is a free spirit in the outdoor fields and often the last to come in for dinner! He and Winter are best friends.

Meet River, our magnificent 17-hand Warmblood and one of the newest member of the herd! With his striking presence and gentle demeanor, River quickly captured the hearts of all the kids this summer during camp sessions.

Winter is owned by Gabrielle Greeves and arrived at WindWalkers in 2016. He has a few select junior staff riders who enjoy his spirited gait. You can always find Winter grazing along his best friend, Ringo.

Vie Gaits, owned by Susie and Steven Fraser, joined the ranch in the fall of 2016. With his soulful eyes and thick winter coat, he looks just like a big teddy bear! Extra huggable, Vie Gaits has a knack for wiggling in close and stealing hearts. His perfectly gaited walk brings out giggles from both children and adults as he carries them gracefully.

Elsa came to WindWalkers July 2022. Previously she was the mare in charge of all the polo ponies. Elsa is now a therapy pony that is always on the road and is known to be seen having ice cream socials with our seniors.

These spirited youngsters are the youngest members of our herd, and we're having a blast training them to be the most compassionate service animals around. But that’s not all—they’re also gearing up to be expert cart-driving ponies! Get ready for some fun adventures with these two as they learn the ropes and spread joy wherever they go!
